A K-12 Partnership Success Story

January 6, 2015

“Designing a cafeteria isn’t just about a straight line of counters with food on them like it was when I was in school,” Sevieri said. “The new breed of school cafeterias are much more communal, and more food-court-like than they used to be.”

On the hunt for the perfect design

Rick Sevieri, president of RJS Barber Associates, is a food service design consultant with the reputation of immersing himself into the unique challenges that each of his food service operators face. His company works with clients in K-12 schools as well as casinos, restaurants and government facilities to name a few.

Sevieri spends many of his working hours digging into his clients’ needs to determine the best possible solutions to their problems. Sevieri said Multiteria is the perfect manufacturing partner because of our collaborative nature, a wide breadth of product options, and our easy to use, upfront estimating. “When we get into unique designs, we reach out to the Multiteria for their expertise,” Sevieri said. “Multiteria always brings stuff to the table. When I write up client bids, it’s a tremendous advantage to be able to get a rough budget number quoted by the linear foot in advance. It helps me narrow down the best options for my clients, while meeting their budget requirements. Multiteria is our go-to manufacturer when we’re working with schools.”

Multitera: a perfect fit and a competitive edge

“Designing a cafeteria isn’t just about a straight line of counters with food on them like it was when I was in school,” Sevieri said. “The new breed of school cafeterias are much more communal, and more food-court-like than they used to be.” According to Sevieri, this brings new challenges and considerations into the design process. And it’s because of these new challenges that he calls Multiteria’s Bravura line “The perfect countertop line for schools. Bravura has a retail feel, not institutional. It helps create a dining experience, and I really like the signage, lighting, and merchandising options.”

“Sometimes when you get into a project, you think you’re going to end up needing a custom fabricator.” But since Multiteria has so many design and modular options to choose from “it’s like having the flexibility of a custom fabricator, with the ease of a plug-and-play manufacturer,” Sevieri said. Plus, he really likes Multiteria’s exclusive interlocking TightLink system. “It lets you link together counter sections while still having one continuous countertop.”

A partner that cares:

“With some of Multiteria’s competitors, you’re given some tray slide options, and that’s about it,” Sevieri said. But with Multiteria, it’s “a very different experience,” It’s almost as if “you’re getting a business partner; someone that cares about your clients and whose experience is there to complement your vision. The whole Multiteria team has been fantastic, and they’ve been there for us even after our projects are completed. They’re wonderful at communicating and setting expectations, and have even gone above-and-beyond to resolve issues that were out of their control.”

With Multiteria, Rick Sevieri has been able to streamline his design process, ultimately saving him valuable time, while saving his clients money.
